Things to Do
Choctaw has all the peaceful calm of a small town mixed with the excitement of a big city. With plenty of annual events held locally like Oktoberfest and dozens of things to do in the nearby downtown of Oklahoma City, Choctwa is the best of both worlds.
Oktoberfest
On the weekend before and the week right after Labor Day of every year, Old Germany Restaurant, the City of Choctaw and the Choctaw Chamber organize a now 7-day Oktoberfest under 30,000 sq-ft of tents and pavilion featuring German food, beer, wine, dancing. There will be 2000 seats with some 40,000 people in attendance over the span of the event. Once again, the Choctaw Oktoberfest will be held at Choctaw Creek Park on Harper Rd. between NE 23rd Street and NE 10th Street. It's a beautiful setting in a 160 acre park.
NBA Thunder Games
The excitement of the NBA is in Oklahoma City! This young team has shown they are here to contend. The Thunder's stadium is only 30 minutes away from the Choctaw area.
Bricktown
An excellent example of an outstanding redevelopment of an older area of Oklahoma City. Bricktown is a great place in downtown Oklahoma City for entertainment, restaurants, shopping and night life.
Oklahoma City Zoo
The Oklahoma City Zoological Park and Botanical Garden is one of the world's premier zoological institutions, providing visitors and the community with exemplary recreational and educational opportunities.
Oklahoma City Philharmonic
The Oklahoma City Philharmonic was founded in 1988 and celebrates more than 20 years of beautiful music in OKC. Under the direction of Joel Levine, the orchestra performs Classics, orchestral Pops, and Discovery Family concerts, as well a variety of community engagements.
